York Minster
I left Glasgow in torrential rain and arrived in sunny York a few hours later. Very impressed with the Azuma train on the East Coast Main Line, although not quite in the same league as the Japanese bullet train i sat in at the Railway Museum.
I had forgotten how fine a city this is and I spent a leisurely afternoon wandering about, crisscrossing the River Ouse several times.
I couldn’t resist staying at the “Fat Badger”, it’s proved an excellent choice, just metres away from the Minster with excellent food and a small number of quirky rooms.
The main purpose of my visit is a Pilgrimage tomorrow organised and led by the British Pilgrimage Trust.
