Past, present and future

Today, after walking the woofer,  I drove to Maldon to have a leisurely lunch with a group of friends all of whom I haven't seen this century!  Mark, Lyn, Sue, Dave, and Kate are, or rather, were, my esteemed colleagues and friends when I taught in Maldon 30+ years ago before going to Istanbul.  All of us retired now of course, but Oh, it was wonderful to see them and we agreed we should do it again. It's quite strange to pick up on an old life after such a long time,  but I'm glad that I have and don't know why I didn't think of doing this before - we were all chatting away as we always used to do in the staffroom as if it was only last week.......

Sometimes you just have to reach out.
