Children’s Carnaval

I love the sheer happiness and fun of this part of the Funchal Carnaval celebrations.

The youngsters have been working towards this parade for months. The groups are from schools mainly, with a couple of other organisations. Even the tiniest and shyest little ones are swept up in it.

The outfits of many of their teachers and helpers are also amazing.

Nobody gets worried about people taking photos. It’s a truly happy occasion.
