A day in the life

By Shelling

Tremella mesenterica

...a fungi that has several common names, one of them is "Yellow Brain", which I found very appropriate. According to "The Woodland  Trust" it is "a parasitic jelly fungus that looks like a little brain and feed on fungi that feed on dead wood". Seems a complicated life. Personally I've never seen it before, I found it on my walk through The Grove, where I was looking to see if the blue anemones had arrived yet. They almost have. I saw one tiny bud sticking up through the leaves. Once the sun comes tomorrow I'm quite sure more of them will reveal themselves. They are a week or so later than last year.
