An ordinary life....

Feast for the eyes...

Early rise as it takes me a little longer to get through my morning routine at the mo, mainly due to wound cleaning and care.

Off to see the nurse at the health centre at 10am for a wound check.  She is happy with the progress but wants me to continue putting a daily dressing on one part of it over the weekend and see how it looks on Monday.

As we were out and about anyway, we headed to the Scottish Arts and Antiques Centre at Abernyte for a lovely brunch of French toast, bacon and maple syrup and a good old wander around the place.  It was very odd to think that the last time we drove up the A90 towards Dundee, I was heading for my op!  Today's journey was much more relaxed.

I could have spent a fortune but restricted myself to a little blue and white bowl to keep lemons in, a new oven glove, a ceramic sheep (for my studio.  To be blipped :-) and a packet of ginger thins.

The ultra thick yarn I bought for Jen's Skandi style blanket arrived not long after we got home so I got settled in my chair and started her blanket.  It's a really easy pattern consisting of 56 rows.  I got to row 9 and appeared to have lost a stitch.  I frogged it back to row 7 twice and re-did it twice, each time rows 7 & 8 were perfect but a stitch disappears in row 9!  I got very frustrated with it then decided it was best to leave it till tomorrow when I won't be so tired and annoyed with it.

Cottage pie for dinner and a pleasant evening perusing websites I have gift vouchers for.  I am looking forward to spending them :-))

The end of February already and another day of progress in my recovery :D

PS Just before we headed out to the health centre this morning, Alan's support worker Vickie appeared with this box of mini chocolate cakes she made for me!   So kind.  It's rather nice having a wonderful baker on Alan's team.  I had one after my dinner with a cuppa and I can tell you they are light a feather and taste even better than they look, if that's possible :-)
