Again and Again

Time out

The planned supermarket trip ended before I'd finished showering as Hank would not start again.  I managed to get the garage that we purchased the battery from to come with their magic box and they tested and confirmed it was faulty and have ordered a replacement. Initially they said that they didn't offer a recovery service and I would need to get to them but after I explained that the AA would be reluctant to come out for the same problem they sorted last week and that my own car would not jump a completely dead,  heavy duty battery, they relented.

MrRIU is, at the moment, very much on a glass quarter full trajectory with every minor setback being a complete disaster.  Fortunately I was able to see it from a different perspective and this was simply a frustrating but minor inconvenience.  As long as I don't allow myself to get sucked into his bubble I will be ok.  My daily gratitude practice is definitely helping me with this.  I must continue to protect my own energy first and not accept responsibility for other people's.

Sally and I had pizza in Prezzo. The acoustics were dreadful and we struggled to hear each other at times but the pizza was good.

Then the cinema.  It has been refurbished since Sally went last and I grabbed my picture on the way in.  I imagine that they are still struggling though; movies just don't seem to be coming as fast as pre-covid and they are hitting streaming services quicker than ever.  There is, in my view,  no increase in pleasure from big screen viewing of a Bridget Jones movie that you can already get streamed to your home. In fact, the latter would have been preferable as I could have nipped to the loo or put the kettle on during the bits that, for me, added no value (and I've already forgotten)  Overall it was an OK from me.  I struggled to understand how people were brought to tears by the storyline but there were a few moments that made me chuckle and Leo Woodhall emerging, fully clothed from a swimming pool, brandishing a sodden dog was not roo hard on the eye.
