Something to Repair?
One of the highlights of a visit today to the Weald and Downland Living Museum at Singleton over in West Sussex was a chance to look 'behind the scenes' in (see today's 'Extra') and around the Court Barn, the setting for the BBC TV series The Repair Shop.
Mrs Catspaw and I were relieved to discover that the TV programmes do tell 'an honest story', i.e. that the vast majority of the repairs shown are actually carried out in the barn by the characters we see on screen (each one typically taking around two weeks to achieve), and the programme is straightforward in saying when items are in fact sent 'off site' for particular treatments.
