Tranquility
This morning I walked into town for a few things, it was very cold, but sunny. Later I did an hour of tidying up the borders in the back garden, it was lovely to be out in the sun. This afternoon I went to Sheringham Little Theatre to see Mike Leigh’s classic 1970’s play Abigail’s Party. It was performed by Sheringham Little Theatre Players and was very good. The comedy of the character’s’ snobbery and prejudices as the alcohol flowed held up well over 50 years, less so the rape jokes and casual acceptance of domestic abuse. I did enjoy going to the theatre locally again. To give you an idea of the team effort involved in the Little Theatre, the actor playing Beverly is also the commercial manager of the theatre. I took my photo before the matinee started, there was hardly a breeze today and the sea was so tranquil. It was also lovely to see a number of holidaymakers down for the weekend, several enjoying an ice cream.
My trip to Cromer last night to see the sunset and planetary parade was a waste of time. Whilst it was full sun and clear skies in Holt when I left, there was cloud on the horizon in Cromer which impacted my sunset photos. Then cloud spread in from the West so that meant I only briefly saw Venus. Then I drove home in unforecast very thick fog, a quite scary drive!
