Cottage in the woods

This is Marian's wee house deep in the bush in a river gorge. It is a stunning location. More in extras.

Bean and I joined a small gathering to eat home made pizzas cooked in her home made cob oven. 28C wasn't very conducive to standing anywhere near the oven, but the pizzas were fabulous. 

The company was interesting. Half a dozen of us, all similar ages, but with very different backgrounds and lives. Fascinating conversations. A lot of laughter. Heaps of connections too because at nine years I was the briefest resident of North Otago, and even I found common friends and acquaintances. It is such a small community.

What a wonderful way to spend the day. 

Plus no internet, cell phone. So I've been nowhere near either the news, or Blip.
