New Day, New Month, New Life

No pictures, of course, and this isn't my news to announce so I won't send this blip to my Facebook (but some may find it....), but today was a big day as my wee granddaughter was born out in Bermuda. Very exciting.

Everything went smoothly, pictures were received, a little video, and even a very short video call when we were in the pub before dinner with N and A who are here for the weekend (Tain visits Edinburgh!).

In and amongst, ordinary life continued. Mr A and I made a swift visit to the market and the supermarket in the morning before sorting out a few things in the flat for visitors.

We met N and A at Waverley and popped into Mimi's in the City Art Centre for coffee and a bun. Up to Old College area, we stowed their bags temporarily in my office, while we visited the Scottish Colourists exhibition. Excellent. I learned a lot and made some connections in my mind.

Home on a bus which arrived conveniently for a cup of tea, and then down to the Leith Shore area. We had to wait to get a table at Pizza Geeks so we squeezed onto the last available table in Lost in Leith for some excellent pre dinner beers. After pizza and more beers, we finished the evening at the Moonwake Taproom which is probably my favourite taproom from an aesthetic point of view (and I also do really like Moonwake beers). By the time we got home, everyone was ready for bed - too much stimulation, excitement and beer! I'd done 20,000 steps wandering around Leith and Edinburgh today.
