SATURDAY - ST DAVID'S DAY

Up at 7:15 am to find the lights flickering and by 7:30 the power had gone off altogether - so no heating or hot water and, as our gas hob was removed as part of the kitchen re-fit earlier this week, there was no coffee either.

It had been frosty overnight, but the sun was shining and I headed over to Prestatyn for the Nova Parkrun which I completed in an official time of 27:57. I stopped off at M&S and Starbucks (for take away coffee) on the way home.

Early afternoon, we headed up to the Salusbury Arms Community Pub for the St David's Day "Daffy Cafe". It was a good opportunity to catch up with our friends and neighbours (many of whom were also without power) and participate in fund raising activities such as pull a leek, quiz and raffle. We came away with lots of goodies.

The power was eventually restored mid afternoon and was traced to an underground cable fault.
