Making a mesh of things
Backblip because fed up
Delving into the guts of Madame Fidra again was a little too overwhelming a prospect so I took the original body panel off the forever nameless Africa Twin and set about taking a sort of mould of it using aluminium mesh, so that I could transfer that shape to the newer panel that was missing a chunk. While doing that, I carelessly and absent-mindedly moved my hand and broke off the same piece from the original panel that I had repaired ten years earlier. Le sigh.
So I spent as much time again fashioning more mesh, and using up all the adhesive I had bought. Yesterday's photo is of the newer panel as I was gradually skinning the mesh with the epoxy. I hope it's the right shape.
If I wasn't accidentally breaking things I was dropping things or just being hugely uncoordinated. Not only that, taking the panel off the bike revealed that one of the radiators was leaking. I have at least one spare squirreled away, but I can't remember if it's for the right-hand or left-hand side. "If it's not one thing, it's another", quipped Coyote Bus Lines' driver Dan Torrance in 1976. I ended up feeling the weight of the world's events and became very despondent.
Dad gave me a lift back to HQ for tea and we had a good tuck in. Back home, lovely bestie and I had a long, late video chat with much discussing of Holz plans.
