AIDS Memorial Grove
The AIDS Memorial Grove is the result of annual community tree planting since 1994. Serving as a living memorial, it is an area for reflection and contemplation of those who died of AIDS.
My extra shows a sign promoting a queer picnic, one of many on the paths leading to the Grove. I presume it was yesterday, hot on the heels of Mardi Gras.
It is indeed a beautiful and peaceful place. During covid, SeriousFrolic, Mr K, M and I would meet there, having consideration for whatever rules were being applied. I recall bringing wine in disguise vessels, so there must have been a public alcohol ban on.
Thanks for hosting MM for March, Gilly and Lesley.
