Your Move
Black has lost two pawns. But White has lost a castle. This is serious stuff. I wonder if the lady on her own and the young couple know each other, having started they could be here some time.
My exploration of West Yorkshire continues. First of all a taxi ride to the railway station, my first in years. I had forgotten how taxi drivers can tell you half their life story in 20 minutes. This driver had spent 3 years in prison as a result of football violence following a Crewe Alexander versus Port Vale match. I didn’t want to know the details.
A long rail journey, it’s amazing how long it takes to cross the Pennines by rail. But I eventually arrived at my destination.
This evening a concert at the Howard Assembly Rooms, fantastic classical guitarist and lute player Sean Shibe (playing mainly lute this evening) and equally fantastic fiddle player Andy O’Rourke, both Scots focussing tonight on old Scots tunes. Who would have thought that there could be a medley of tunes by Hildegard of Bingen, John Cage and Andy O’Rourke played on the electric guitar and fiddle.
Two temporary extras for further clues to today’s location.
