Yr Het ddu

Yr Het ddu ~ The Black Hat

“if I was a witches hat / sitting on her head like a paraffin stove / I'd fly away and be a bat / across the air I would rove.”
― Robin Williamson, (Witches Hat, The Incredible String Band)

Ar ddiwrnod olaf y flwyddyn Tibet rydyn ni'n dawnsio Dawns yr Het Ddu (ཞྭ་ནག་). Mae'r wisg yn eithaf 'bygythiol' gyda het fawr a gwisgoedd swmpus, yr holl gydag wynebau dicllon. Mae'r ddawns yn symbol o ddifa grymoedd negyddol, ac yn golygu dechrau da i'r flwyddyn newydd.

On the last day of the Tibetan year we dance the Black Hat (ཞྭ་ནག་) Dance. The costume is quite 'threatening' with a big hat and voluminous clothes, all with wrathful faces. The dance is a symbol of destroying negative forces, and means a good start to the new year.

Disgrifiad (Cymraeg) : Yr Het Ddu, o Ddawns yr Het Ddu. Defnyddiais i 'remove.bg' i gael gwared ar y cefndir, a'r GIMP i osod yr Het ar gefndir llwyd plaen.

Description (English) : The Black Hat, from the Black Hat Dance. I used 'remove.bg' to remove the background, and the GIMP to place the Hat on a plain grey background.
