Old Trees
Today is based around trees the main photo is called the Walking Rata tree. extras my wife Anne touching a 1000-year-old Rimu tree left by the foresters of the day when milling timber and clearing land for farming. 2M. wide and 36M high. In the day the gum was used to stop bleeding, leaves to heal wounds and the inner bark applied to burns. The female tree only seeds every 5 to 6 years, also the red seeds are edible. Finally, 2 Nikua trees that are very common around the coast and a friendly Fantail (Piwakawaka) which with the Robin are the trampers friends.
