Watching the camera

A cloudless summer's day with a stunning blue sky. A pleasant afternoon walk as the temperature fell slightly. Its a good time to see the Warou which are active in chasing and eating tiny insects. This one was settled on a high wire, and the glint in its eye suggests it was keeping alert to my presence.

We don't have anything resembling Musk's DOGE, but the coalition government, led by David Seymour has instructed multiple departments to cut staff numbers and they are doing it. Health care workers are leaving the country as Australia attempts to maintain their services. Seymour's statements about the shortage issues always sound as if the problem is inefficient, or inadequate staff. On the rare occasions that the PM (Luxon, I think is still PM) parrots Seymour.
