Changing Priorities

The rather imposing building in the centre of this blip was originally Härnösand's court house (Tingshuset). It opened in 1905 and was the first thing you saw when you stepped down from the train onto Härnösand Station, once the railway had arrived a few years later. In keeping with the values of it's times it was built to last and it's purpose, "Tingshuset", was engraved in stone above the main entrance, as it still is.
However, it now houses our doctor's surgery and a good number of commercial offices. The court house moved into a boring administrative building in the centre of town, but is about to move again into a building that is currently being constructed, and may be almost as inspiring as the original.
Today, when you arrive by train, the first building you see is a large grey warehouse style building with the very unSwedish name - the Dollar Store, where you can buy international tat at very cheap prices.
(Am I becoming a grumpy old man?)
As you can see, the snow is not deep and old snow can be very dirty. Most places south of us are now snow-free, which is unusual at the start of March.
