Dipper

A cloudy and breezy day. Partner out at a bookbinder exhibition, and lunch, with friends. I have the lunchtime walk to myself. Very dull, but it was considerably darker over the water in Fife. Edinburgh Castle looked very grey. Park was very quiet. There is colour in the park from the miniature daffodils and crocuses, the flowers of the latter were not open.

The breeze picks up in the afternoon, but not enough to remove the clouds. Walking beside the burn, I spot something flying just above the water. Getting to the rock where it landed, I got a nice photo of a dipper. Dipping up and down, it was looking very keenly in to the water. Eventually it dives in to the water and disappears. There can't be much there, as it reappears and flies down stream. We do spot it again, but I can't get a photo as there are too many branches in the way. Walking home, partner spots a very dozy honey bee on a crocus plant. It can just about fly above the flower, preferring to walk up the stem.

It is Wine Wednesday, and we need wine. So we have a quick trip up to the big wine shop for wine to go with the Wednesday pasta dish. And a box of wee cans of beer because it was there.
