Messy Cake!

Last night I made two 8 inch cakes, one for the top and one for the bottom.
The idea was that the twins would decorate the one that was for the top so they climbed onto the worktop and got out various bits and pieces.
Blue (looks black) and red, they were in small tubes so they tried writing with them, gave up and just did big splodges. They didn't know that it was food colouring so a tiny bit should be mixed with icing sugar to coat the top!
The rest of the bits and pieces are shapes that you get in small plastic containers, they are for decorating cakes but usually in some sort of pattern rather than randomly shaken about.
Nonetheless, Marlane was very pleased with the decoration on her birthday cake.
I did the whipped cream around the outside and in the middle there are slices of strawberry with whipped cream.
Believe it, or not, it was very good cake!
