Startled
We walked to Brixham and were pleased to see the statue of William of Orange, after its renovation. Last week it was still behind fencing. He has had his nose mended, and like many others in receipt of cosmetic surgery, he looks a bit startled. Probably amazed that money had been found to do it. Blip of statue behind fencing.

The statue commemorates the fact that William of Orange, afterwards William III, King of Great Britain and Ireland, landed near this spot 5 November 1688, and issued his famous declaration.
“ THE LIBERTIES OF ENGLAND AND THE PROTESTANT RELIGION I WILL MAINTAIN.”
