A Haircut in Totnes
Jacqui was birdwatching today in Budleigh Salterton. Bird of the Day was a water rail. I visited Totnes, which is an interesting and quirky town to spend the day. There are bookshops, and good walking along the river Dart. Passing by a hairdressers with no customers, on the spur of the moment I went in for a haircut. The barber was a septuagenarian but slightly younger than me which made a change from the casually tattooed chaps I normally see, and it eased the conversation. I admired the shop name which was ‘ Hairitage’. Further up the town I stopped for quite a while admiring this gable end and its setting. I thought it was beautiful. The owner of the house - an artist, - was actually standing nearby, and came over, so I told her and we had a chat.
