Off we go
Just a quick snap of the kids on the bus as we headed off to the symphony. Mr. Abraham is the driver and has the best bus with decorations and prizes that kids can earn. He also has kid's drawings taped to the top of the bus.
Anyway.... the hour long symphony was great. The kids were, for the most part, into it. They played some very upbeat pieces and introduced all the instruments in the orchestra. Each group played a short piece so the kids could really hear what it sounded like. My favorite was the intro into the opera Omar, written by Rhiannon Giddens and another person I can't remember. She is one of my favorite musicians playing banjo among other things. It was full of percussion and African tunes. Omar (opera) - Wikipedia
