Open At Last

I went and visited the newly opened Cardboard Cathedral today. It opened yesterday but I didn't know. I found it was very interesting see inside after documenting it for so long. Here are some more photos I took today. It was hard to know which to use and I thought I would go with one not many people may take.

before the February earthquake hit. I think they were going to restore it after the damage done by the September 2010 earthquake.

The cathedral, designed by Japanese architect Shigeru Ban and incorporating 98 beams encased in cardboard, had been subject to construction delays after initially being scheduled to open in February. Here is more information on the Cathedral.
