On Slough road
Slough Road isn’t a very exciting sign, but below it is the last remaining sign that marked the original London marathon route for the 1908 olympics, showing 25miles to go. We followed the original route as closely as possible but some bits have been built on or the A road doesn’t have a pavement so we had to do a bit extra. Thinking it was about 28miles in total, but too long for my Garmin battery whilst using it for navigation so I’m not sure.
If you are thinking that would be a really cool route, you are mistaken! Mostly A roads with a few busy high streets to navigate.
As I’m coming back from injury I ran walked the first 14 miles, then my knee was complaining so I decided to take a very long walk to the end. I’m glad that’s over!
