Spotting An Onlooker, Lower Upnor

As it was such lovely day we headed over the Tudor Rose at Upper Upnor for a drink in its garden. The temperature was just right and the sky was blue so all was right with the world. We just had to locate ourselves far enough away from a table of lads, lads, lads so that we didn't really hear their performative LOUD conversation and ample use of swearing. After the imbibement of our alcoholic beverages we headed to Lower Upnor to try and get our images for the day and that's when I spotted this abandoned soft toy looking out across the bend of the River Medway estuary. It looked both forlorn and comical at the same time.
Also, when I got back home, I managed to make successful scones, which is a first. This time they were cheese and apple courtesy of a recipe by "cult baker" Nicola Lamb. All I can say is that the recipe worked an absolute treat. The clincher seems to be the use of buttermilk , a tablespoon (!) of baking powder and some dijon mustard. They tasted fantastic and the recipe was so easy to follow so will definitely make them again!
