The river at dusk

Some months ago I was invited to take part in the annual Book Week in Kirkcudbright and talk about the books that have most influenced and shaped me.

We drove down this afternoon, and that gave us enough light for a walk along the river before having something to eat prior to the event.

It was a very warm day for the time of year - 18.5 degrees at  one stage - and the colours at dusk by the Dee  (marbled and washed out) were wonderful.   I have always liked the town and of course it has strong personal associations, my parents having lived here for the last twenty or so years of their lives.
