Meeting The Opposition!

It is Time Change Sunday in the parts of our country that observe Daylight Saving Time during spring and summer months which means that we push our clocks forward an hour, so it was a challenging day from the start.  As we gathered at FBC under uncertain skies and chilly winds to worship and praise God, the fellowship was warm and sweet.  We began our service with a congregational song followed by the welcome from Pastor Wes.  The choir, orchestra and all our talented accompanists followed that welcome with a new song for us, an uplifting anthem called "Ancient Of Days".  The congregation continued the music portion of our service with a few more songs.  Then Pastor Wes turned our attention to Ephesians 6:10-13, where he told us that while it is true that if we have been saved by faith in Jesus, we have been adopted into God's family and will be with Him in heaven, when our work on earth is done, he reminded us today that there is opposition to what we are tasked with doing while we are here.  Our enemy, Satan, cannot interfere with our salvation because Jesus paid our sin debt in full measure on the cross, but he and his demons can certainly try to prevent us from doing the work of spreading the good news of the gospel in many different ways. Pastor Wes laid it all out so clearly concerning the struggle we have with this opposition and you can find it in the Live-stream.  He also promises to go more in depth next Sunday.  I am really looking forward to that.  At the end of the service we were introduced to three people who wanted to join our church and they were welcomed enthusiastically......
