Day 10
Day 10 of my Gratitude/Walk/Photo Challenge.
Today is a bit of a double-edged gratitude.
Rugby.
Hmm, yes, rugby.
For almost 20 years, I've taxied rugby players, stood on the touchlines, helped in clubhouse kitchens, took thousands and thousands of photos, hung around A&E, slept in a hospital for a week, experienced myriad highs and lows, met new friends, and vowed on numerous occasions never to watch a game again.
But, I've seen two wee laddies learn discipline, train in all weathers, and develop into fine players respected by their peers. Despite having "retired", it was lovely to see Calum pop up to Perth today to watch his auld dad and wee brother Lewis play against their ex-teammates. Bonus for Lewis scoring two tries, a conversion, then winning Man of the Match. Glad I decided to watch.
The injuries and the hospital visits have scarred me in many ways, but I am still grateful for everything the game has given them.
It also keeps hubby "supersub" out of mischief on a Saturday!
Walk: Tracker says I walked 2.6 miles. I think it went bonkers in the clubhouse so am claiming 2 miles for today.
Photo: My "wee" boy on the rampage today.
