Through the Glass
Well, that was a bit of a shock this morning! I breezed out of the house just before 9 and was hit by a freezing wall of wind. It doesn’t matter how many times you watch the weather man’s lips as he tells you about the Arctic air on its way, it isn't until it blows right through you that you think, oh that was what he meant. I think my phone said it felt like -6° and my head and face agreed. Out came the bunnet from my bag and on it went. That felt better.
I was on my way to the Ivy for my monthly get together with my school friend and even though we had had an impromptu meeting last Thursday we had much to say over of toast and marmalade. We had organised to go from the Ivy to the booking office at the Usher Hall to get tickets for an ESMS choral and orchestral concert later in the month, but were found wanting as the office was very shut with no notice of when it would open.
I have prepared a meal for son#1 and d-in-l #1 who are scheduled to arrive from Elgin about 4:30. They are both good cooks so I hope they don’t find my cuisine leaves a lot to be desired- at least this time I’m not taking them to Söderberg for Sourdough pizzas although I suspect they may in the end wish I had.
The sun is out at the moment and it looks pleasant enough through the glass, but I know different!
