Ahmedabad

The connecting flight arrived as planned at 2 am in Ahmedabad, being the most populous city of the Indian state of Gujarat. Border control was quick and as usual the machine couldn’t get my fingerprints. After trying 9 fingers without success the officer gave up with a smile and let me pass.

Our official programme starts tomorrow and we made two short discovery tours on our own today, avoiding the highest noon temperatures of around 40 degrees Celsius.

The city is buzzing with activity, lots of people, lots of shops, lots of traffic and also lots of noise and honking. We have to get used to the lifestyle here again and it takes a little jolt to cross the streets in the constant traffic. The blip shows the city almost too quiet and too clean, but is one of my favourite photos from today.
