Greylags at Gibraltar Point
Headed to Skegness this morning. We went back for hats, gloves and buffs at the last minute and were so glad we did. It was cold, foggy and windy by the coast. We walked along the beach and up to Gibraltar Point nature reserve. We fortified ourselves with a veggie sausage bap and then headedout to the hides. Lots of water birds, brant geese, greylag geese, curlews, tufted ducks, shelducks, lapwing, egrets, swans and little grebes. There were probably more that we didn't recognise and spot. We also saw a muntjac deer, goldfinches, chaffinches, greenfinch, robins, dunnock, great tits and blue tits.
Walked along the road back to Skegness and stopped in the town for more coffee and a couple of errands.
The sun did eventually break through later in the day.
