Monday-soup
Thank you for all your best wishes concerning todays gig. I have been a little worried because my cold sort of stopped healing and left me with somewhat clogged air tubes and noisy lungs.
My voice was far from perfect but worked fine for the kind of songs I had chosen and I had such a lot of praise for the half an hour we had together. They were singing along beautifully when they were supposed to and listening intently when that was called upon, none of them, apart from the female priest, were below sixty five, some were past ninety.
Twice every six months they meet up for what is called a "Monday soup", a get together with homemade pea-soup, some entertainment, coffee, a lot of chatting and a few words from the priest. Every seat was taken, which meant there were some thirty five of them. They wanted me to come back for another time, which is a good grade for my performance.
I was so glad it went well.
