Female Mallard

We went into town this morning for my husband to have his haircut. We went into Tesco’s café for coffee and some fruit; then into the main town for some odds and ends. I also did some u3a admin ready for tomorrow’s committee meeting.
 
Today’s picture is of one of our female Mallards. She has been sitting in the upper part of the garden for several days, in various different places. Sometimes she brings a male Mallard with her. Maybe she is looking for a suitable nesting place, although they usually make their nests in the marsh next to our boundary.
 
Temperature today. Seven degrees Celsius. Some sunshine, but with some short, heavy rainstorms in between.
