It's not quite as big as it looks!

Another quiet day at Ruth's.   I did leave the house a couple of times, once for a walk with Meg and once to take Ruth to the dentist.   She has to have sedation for any dental work so it's a bit more complicated than for most of us.  One of the 'extras' is that she can't be left alone for 24 hours after sedation in case of any reaction ....hence my quiet day.   

It wasn't wasted though :-)   This is the biggest piece I have hand built without using a former or a mould.   I have worked on it at different times through the day, first making the two large thumb pots, then after letting them harden a bit I joined them.   After the dentist I fettled the join and worked on evening out the shape before adding the neck using a few narrow coils and the handles with slightly larger ones.   Very pleased with it.
