Pink promise

As I type we are having a shower of hail! Not the first this morning either. There have been spells of sunshine but it has been predominantly cloudy and yet again very cold!

You may think that I have nurtured this pink Camelia through the winter to this stage of having promising buds but a closer look will the reveal a label. 

This morning when I couldn’t get what I needed from our village pharmacies I headed down to Bingley to try Boots. No on street parking so I decided to be cheeky and park in Lidl car park. I immediately spotted the Camelias outside and couldn’t resist a purchase. I chose pink rather than red though white ( or pale yellow) would be my favourites. We did have a white one in a pot for a while but it died a couple of years ago but we will try again. I also got Magnolia Stellata too as ours didn’t do very well last year and we’re just waiting to see how it does this year to see whether it will have to come out. I got both plants for just over £20! 

At least we can enjoy this on our kitchen doorstep for a while this spring.
