Oh well. Castle conquered. I'm done.
I have always been a pessimist and expect the worst. 99% of the time, I am right to be this way. Today proved no exception.
I made it all the way up to Greenan Castle today. Not just to take pictures from a distance from Ayr Beach or sat underneath it or like this. Today was the day that I walked a different road and came up a very steep road in the blistering sunshine to a hilly track through manure stinking fields and then a steeper up and down curve - I had to bum it down so as not to fall over and then crawl through the bushes on hands and knees to get up like a dog (appropriate) - and finally emerged at the dizzy point where I could poke my head through a window at the back and lean on a crumbling wall to the left to take my photo with one hand.
Only a little stony ledge stopped me falling over to certain injury or death. You do get the occasional fatality up there but I wasn't about to add to the list despite receiving my expected news on the way up.
Never mind. That's life.
'To turn around and walk away,
I really cannot do,
There's always a chance I like to think,
Sometimes good things happen too.'
Oh no they don't!!!!!
Track? A repeat but I like it - Castle in Ayr
