Living my dream

Recognisable...

...if out of focus. Bean that is. The red clover is beautifully sharp.

Where has today disappeared to? I looked at the clock at 4.30pm and was astonished that it wasn't 2.30pm.

I was in G's garden all morning, weeding, potting up lavenders and chatting. Lots of chatting.

The afternoon walk to friends' property involved carrying an empty bucket on the way there, and the same bucket filled with Doris Plums on the way home. They have a huge tree laden with plums and from which the fruit are falling with every breath of wind. After I had picked enough it was impossible to tell I'd taken any at all.

Three bottles of plums are currently in a water bath to sterilise them and seal the tops. They will go into the cool store to join the bottled apples, pears, rhubarb, apricots, raspberries, peaches and gooseberries. I love eating them on my porridge in the depths of winter. I am almost at peak bottled fruit for this season. There are only five empty jars left.

Others tasks were completed as well...
