TWO FOR JOY
Spent most of the day indoors getting on with chores. Michelle picked me up at 5.30pm to go to slimming group. I lost 3 pounds this week. Good to get a loss as I'm off to Yorkshire again on Saturday for a long weekend and I'm sure to be " off plan" while I'm away.Three new members this week - good to see our group is growing.
A few days ago a purchase I made on the Folksy site arrived. ( Folksy is the home of British craft - a place to buy handmade gifts and original artwork, sold directly by the artists and designers who have created them. Every purchase from Folksy supports a genuine craftsperson). The seller included this postcard with my purchase thanking me for my order. I was pleased to see two Magpies as according to the rhyme its " Two For Joy ". I'm hoping its an omen that Newcastle United will win the Carabao Cup on Sunday. I did a bit of processing to make the image more Abstract. Thanks to Ingeborg for hosting the challenge.
I did a bit of research on the postcard and found out that the image is from a book called " The Lost Words " by Robert MacFarlane and Jackie Morris. Its a best selling and award winning book where poems become spells and art makes magic. The magpie spell is .... " Interrupt, Interject, Intercept, Intervene. Every Magpie for Every Magpie against Every Other Walking, Flying, Swimming, Creeping Creature on Earth".
