Spent part of the day writing up a report, part doing some washing, part reading, part addressing my backfocussing problems. I think I have it sorted (thanks to this website!)
I went out for a wander to see how my adjustments had affected the camera/lens combination and I can definitely see a massive improvement in sharpness. Just in time for our holiday starting next Sunday :)
