Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Futile!

The Ides of March today and three years since my lovely friend Ruth died. I'm sure I remember her quoting from Caesar - she would have been amused. I can almost hear her saying, I told you to beware!
I had a quiet morning, most of them are unless I have to get moving for a reason.
I typed l up the minutes from Wednesday's Vestry meeting. - the Secretary lost her car keys so didn't make it. For some reason I ended up taking the minutes. Next I wrote the intercessions for tomorrow's service, two jobs I had been putting off, but for which I was running out of time.
This afternoon I headed into the village to visit the charity shops. In the first I picked up an almost new music stand for the girls. At the moment they share one, this one is blue - they will argue!
I then realised my car was very low on petrol so I went to Morrisons to fill up.
My visit to the second Charity shop went without purchase although.... and the title of my blip which misses the words resistance is!...
My image is of a very stylish, probably Scandinavian, although not, as I had first thought, George Jensen candleabra. Mine for the princely sum of £6.50, however, I sensibly decided that I didn't need it so didn't buy it! Although, it may still be there and they are open on a Sunday....!
The Bishop is coming to our church tomorrow, he was originally coming in November but picked the date of our AGM which I thought was not a good idea, So I cancelled that date, he was the first Bishop I cancelled, my total is two now, in just four months I'll be getting a reputation.
