DIY Bargain
A charity shop necklace was almost perfect but the cow-horn hoops were accompanied by several strands of unadorned cords, the same as held the hoops themselves. I thought the effect rather messy.
Yesterday I tackled the 'improvement' by cutting off the extra cords, which involved removing the communal joint, resulting in four raw ends on the piece I was keeping. I taped them together while considering the next step.
Today I joined them up. It was fiddly and time-consuming, using a mix of stitching the ends together, adding a spot of glue and lastly binding with embroidery thread to neaten the join. Twice, as there are two cords for each hoop.
So far I'm quite pleased with it.
