Weather
The wide open spaces of the west provide far-reaching vistas where one can watch the Spring snow squalls drift across the face of the land. (the main and the extra). The mountains receive the moisture while we at lower elevations can only watch in wonder and wish for rain.
Meanwhile, at the river...a raft of ravens fly in from the south, spiral down and settle on a sandbar, as if to conference, to convene. I had never seen even a single raven on a sandbar, let alone seventeen. They walk in procession downstream until one in the center smacks its wings. They rise together to the tallest cottonwood on the far shore, sheltering for a bit from the high-speed storm.
