Day's Wonder
We had a slow start to the day and then went to the Hoge Veluwe National Park. Hannah wanted to go for a hike and so my parents booked the Airbnb we're staying in based on it's close proximity to the Hoge Veluwe National Park¹. We got a coffee and a bite to eat before heading out for a walk. We had a lovely time. Little Man was such a trooper, and walked for most of the hour and a half we were exploring the park.
We then went back to our Airbnb, got ready and then went out for dinner. When we got back from dinner we went into the hot tub, which Little Man really enjoyed. I've been letting him stay up later than normal because it's important that he gets as much time in with the family as possible.
¹Hoge Veluwe National Park, located in the province of Gelderland in the Netherlands, has a rich history dating back to the early 20th century. The park, covering about 55 square kilometers (21 square miles), is one of the largest continuous nature reserves in the country and is known for its diverse landscapes, wildlife, and cultural heritage. The park was originally established by Anton Kröller and his wife Helene Kröller-Müller, a wealthy Dutch couple with a passion for art and nature. Anton, a businessman, bought vast areas of land between 1909 and 1923, intending to create a private hunting estate. Helene, an art enthusiast, envisioned a cultural sanctuary within the park, collecting art for what would later become the Kröller-Müller Museum. Due to financial troubles, the Kröller-Müllers transferred ownership to the Nationaal Park De Hoge Veluwe Foundation in 1935, ensuring the park's preservation and in the same year, Hoge Veluwe officially became a national park, open to the public.
