Tulips

The W I .president came round with a gift of these lovely tulips. I have put them on a windowsill where they light up in the sunshine.
The tulips were a thank you to me for looking after the WI website which I have done since we first had a website in 2020. It has grown in that time and there is so much of our history on there, it is quite a good read.
Next Wednesday will be the very last meeting of our fifty-five year old WI. We have 75 members but sadly nobody is prepared to take over and go on the committee. I was the first president all those years ago, and have been president twice since. It was a very successful WI right from the start, and even became WI of the Year in a national competition. I have always been very involved, and will find it very hard on Wednesday when it closes. Of course I won’t lose touch with my WI friends, The Mahjong Group started in the WI but we will carry on., There are other WIs in the area but I am not sure whether I want to start again.
I’m not looking forward to Wednesday, but I will have my tulips to cheer me!
