Rocks - WIP!

I have long been inspired by large areas of rocks....the amazing shapes that are formed, the variety of form and line created - i don't usually try to create a painting by using a photograph, but today i made a variety of sketches, using graphite onto the cradled board , before i started applying paint.  You can see the beginning sketch in the extras.

Only spent about 1 1/2 hours in the studio today, my body is still recouping!

Spring is in the air for sure, it went up to about +11 today and i didn't use the wood stove :)
