T'Ingleborough from t'viaduct
Some years ago, on a photographic course, I was somewhat taken aback to be told by someone else attending that they hadn't realised I would have such a 'thick accent'. Well, I'm proud of my Yorkshire roots and my accent.
I headed south on the train today after a smashing long weekend with J and P. J dropped me off at Motherwell station, the journey to Carlisle was comfortable and picturesque. The Bingley train was waiting when I alighted in Carlisle and we had a trouble free journey home, and it was warm in the carriage. The wonderful Settle-Carlisle trolley made an appearance just when I was in need of a cuppa and kit-kat, (and a fridge magnet!) and I took out my phone as we approached Ribblehead. I think the two American women seated in front of me were disappointed (and they won't be the first or last travellers) when the guard said we were approaching the Viaduct. They had their phones out ready but of course you can't see it when you are on it. My blip is of one of our Yorkshire Three Peaks, Ingleborough.
I'm now back home, Tony has made me a coffee, my rucksack is unpacked, weekend tales have been shared.
ps as we pulled in to Dent Station I spotted that the station office is now self-catering and available for holidays. The information says it has a huge widow with spectacular views........
