Pete's Place
(17/3/25)
My day started early for a weekend. Really early. I woke in the middle of the night and could see the moon which was at an angle that it shone right on me. Amazing.
The first thing I did was see Amelia for essential beauty stuff, including a pedicure. When I got home, G was busy doing her social media work. Then, quite suddenly, she took the curtains down in my room, so they are now cleaned as well. I have to say, the rooms feel so different when you know you've washed the curtains.
Time disappeared in the afternoon editing the pictures that G took yesterday and then getting ready to drive to Sharjah to meet up with long-time friends Rita, her husband Harish and Peter. We went to Peter's newly opened cafe in Sharjah. It has only been going a few weeks but word is getting around and his old customers are trekking all the way from Dubai to get a taste of old familiar food!
It was great to catch up after so long and the fact that Rita and Harish were celebrating the first time they met (on 15th March 1990), made it all the more special. It's scary to think we have been friends for longer than that. Also in the picture is Hannah, their daughter.
We said our goodbyes in time for G & me to race to an auto parts supplier to pick up a fuel filter and air filter. Hannah came with us as we couldn't stay for dessert, so we headed to the nearest Katrina outlet after securing the parts. We dropped Hannah home and raced back. For a change, it took us less than ten minutes to drive down from Sharah, but over fifteen minutes to get home from the outskirts of Karama - at almost midnight. Crazy. I was too tired to even think of looking at the pictures let alone blipping.
And I want to record that my YT channel hit the 2.5 million views milestone today.
