All that remains

Of the 15th century kirk at Crimond is a fragment of wall (see extra) and a  section of  cornice now set into a wall in the corner of the kirkyard where former ministers are buried. In addition to the cornice which has carvings of mainly scriptural quotes, the kirk had rope mouldings round the windows.
It fell into disuse around 1812 when a replacement kirk was built closer to the village. The tranqui kirkyard, in the midst of farmland away from the settlement and busy Peterhead- Fraserburgh  road is a remarkably peaceful place.
