Day 3

It wasn't the intended destination, but our walk this morning drew us down the lane past the bowling green and the ambulance station, then the local sewage works (you really wouldn't know!) and on into a vast meadow, where the pooches could run freely.

It is the same meadow where Bertie and Sammy and I ended up a few months ago when the buttercups and daisies were out, except that we approached from the opposite direction that day.

Today the predominant weeds wild flowers were thistles, but they were past the flowering stage and covered in white thistledown which resembled fluffy cotton wool. As you can see, some of the tall plants had been flattened, possibly by the very heavy rain we had a few weeks ago. .

At the risk of making it habitual, there was also another afternoon trip to the park for ball-chasing activities. Result: two conked-out Hot Dogs!
